Dear people,

I'm just calling in to say...

I'm done.

I'm done with Product Breakdown Structures.
I'm done with Quality Management Strategies.
I'm done with Exception Reports and Exception Plans and Exception Assessments.
I'm done with Work Packages and Configuration Item Records.
And I'm done (SOOOO done) with every other stage, role and product having anything to do with project management.

And I don't mean done in the way that I'm ready to take the exam on wednesday...

I'm
just
DONE.

Macro Ikea

I visited Ikea-land and brought home...

A lamp...

A plant...

And a wooden cabinet!

My new BFF :)

Phew! What a week! I hardly had time to sit and catch my breath, let alone blog! I spent all my time at work, taking care of a sick rat and studying project management... Not the best combination I can tell you…

But I’m here now, and so is the weekend :)

Something I’ve been spending a lot of time on lately is photography. Me and my Sony Cybershot (7.2 megapixel) have been busy for years, taking pictures of friends, family, landscapes and overall weird stuff we’ve encountered. Lately we’ve been pretty active on Flickr as well, submitting our favourite shots to groups and collecting beautiful work of others in our favourites-section.

But my good old Cybershot was getting a bit sloppy, making all my movies blue and having a lot of trouble with lighting. (Basically I could only make pictures between 11am and 3pm, otherwise there wouldn’t be enough light for a descent photograph...)

So I decided it was time for a gift. From me, to me. I decided it was time for…

... a Canon EOS 500D!!!

This picture was taken by my Sony Cybershot, at poor light @ 5pm this afternoon.

And this…

… is what my new BFF Canon managed to produce about 30 seconds later.

Not bad eh? I haven’t figured out all the functions, so I used the standard settings. But already I love the colours and softness of the image.

I just can't wait to start photographing!!! More pictures are surely to come, but for now I'll leave you with a little rat :)

I don't think she gets all the excitement. But she's cute anyway! :)

First look: The Big Project

I decided it was time for something BIG. Something challenging. Something that would take me a loooong time to make, but would be so rewarding once finished.

I decided to make… a blanket!!

Youtube Magic!

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Youtube? And not just because it taught me how to crochet! :) Every time I think I’ve seen it all there it is again: something funny, sweet, original, GREAT! Whether it’s wondering where the hell Matt is, giving high fives on an escalator, dancing at Antwerp Station or watching two guys ordering burritos, it’s just pure Youtube Magic if you ask me!

Of course, there are also clips that obviously and clearly came to life for one simple reason: their creators didn’t have anything better to do for a good two hours (or more!)… But even these creations serve a very good purpose: they’re funny as hell! :D Listening to the Christian Bale Remix still cracks me up every time I hear it! :) And just now I stumbled upon a clip made by a person who frankly watched just a bit too much Lost.

So I present – in the category Glorious Youtube Nonsense – all Sawyer’s nicknames from season one, two and three:

And you know what the best part is?

There is a part two.

Out & about

In an attempt to extend my well-ness mentioned in yesterday’s post, I went for a walk this morning.

It was rather foggy and very quiet; I love walking for an hour or so without passing anyone. I was also glad the snow melted during the last couple of days, although there was still some ice around.

But in general there was just fog and dew, and I could almost smell spring in the air! (Which was probably just wishfull thinking...)

I also decided it was a good time to test my new, selfmade wrist warmers!

Damn! These things are just too happy to handle!! :S They actually hurt my eyes! :D I also think they were the only visible objects around for miles… If I had gotten lost in the fog all I had to do was wave my hands and I would've been rescued!

Well... At least they are warm! :)

Hooked: business card holder

After a two day time out I feel like I should be well again. Or at least pretend I'm well. Well enough to blog anyway...

So let's start with a little crochet-project I have been meaning to share with you. After combining felt and fabric I really wanted to try and combine crochet and fabric. I thought I would start with something easy: a business card holder!

I expected it would be difficult to join the fabric with the yarn in an invisible way, but it turned out to be very easy using a ladder stitch.

I am not sure if I'm completely happy with the end result yet, but for a first attempt it's not too bad. The fabric is cute as hell, so that helps ;)

I also love the colour of the button! Such a beautiful shade of green!

I don't know about you, but I feel a little better already :)
