Wonderful Wednesday: Flight of the Cranes

There are so many amazing and wonderful stories out there on the world wide web. Some are funny, some are moving, some are inspiring, and I love to collect them all. Sharing them here always feels a bit tricky though, because it's often so random and out of the blue.

So I'd thought I'd create a little section here for me to share all the crazy, funny and/or beautiful stuff I come across online: Wonderful Wednesday!!!

Part one: flying with birds :)

It's Spring Baby!!!!! :)

Oh yes, it has finally arrived: Spring!!! And although Winter wasn't at all that bad this year (it felt more like a very long Autumn) it's so nice to wake up to sunshine and gorgeous colors :)

Spring is here :)

Makes getting out of bed in the morning a bit more easy, don't you think? :)

Blog Love: A Beautiful Mess

I just wanted to share a blog I discovered recently: A Beautiful Mess by Elsie Larson.

Because beautiful it is!!! Gorgeous photography and photography tips, great DIY projects, cute styling tips and absolutely amazing fashion!!!

I mean: seriously... These outfits are just absolutely wonderful!!!!!! :) I am sooooo jealous of Elsie's wardrobe.... ;)

And it's not just that: Elsie is co-founder of Red Velvet Shop, which according to their facebook-page is "Vintage + Handmade + Cupcakes + Bubble Tea"... and therefor ROCKS ;)

I don't even think I need more words to sell this to you. Just go over there and check out Elsie's blog. You know you want to!!! ;)

The Art Swap Part 3: the painting

After sending the plushie and hand carved stamp to Micki from The Secret Hermit, it was time for the last (and best ;) part of the Art Swap: receiving Micki's painting!!

Unpacking the envelope was fun enough in itself...

... and then there was the artwork inside... WOW!!! :) I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it!!! The colors and overall feel of this little painting are just absolutely wonderful, and it seems like it was made to stand on my dark, wooden desk :) Absolutely perfect!!

The Art Swap

So a huge thank you to Micki for organizing this swap!! And if you want a whimsical painting of your own, make sure to visit Micki's Etsy Shop ;)

The Art Swap Part 2: Hand Carved Stamp

Apart from the plushie I made for the art swap organized by Micki from The Secret Hermit, I wanted to make something a bit more personal.

I bought this lovely painting from Micki a few years ago, and I stil love it so much! It's standing on my nightstand, so I get to see it at the start and end of every day :) And because I love it so much, I decided to turn this painting...

... into a hand carved stamp!!

Pretty cute, eh? :) I'm pretty happy with the result!! Although I did leave out one little detail of the original painting for one very simple reason...

Carving FRECKLES is freakin' impossible.

The Art Swap Part 1: A Happy Little Rainbow

When I first read Micki from The Secret Hermit was organizing an art swap I immediately wanted to join... and then I realized I'm not an artist :) Fortunately Micki didn't mind me joining the swap with my crafty stuff, so off I went making two things I thought she might appreciate: a plushie and a hand carved stamp :)

The plushie I designed myself - it's the first pattern I created with a result worth sharing here ;)

I already showed you the eyes...

... which turned into the little happy face...

... of a sweet little rainbow!! :)

Isn't it cute?? :) I really, really love this plushie - I had so much fun creating it and the very colorful end result makes me really happy! :)

The best part? Now that I have the pattern I can make as many as I want!! :) I also made a matching sun and a cloud which I might share soon. Something for the shop-to-be maybe?? ;)

Coming soon: The Art Swap Part 2: The hand carved stamp!!
