I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love Youtube! It contains so many beautiful, heartwarming and lovely clips!!
(…)
And just to be clear: this post has absolutely nothing to do with them :)
This post is dedicated to the immature, insanely dumb and HILARIOUS videos out there! The ones you watch on Saturday night when you are convinced this is the funniest thing you’ve ever seen:
I was hanging out on Youtube the other night, minding my own business, when I saw this:
And before I knew it I was lost in a maze…
… and up in a plane!
Man... That guy was so scared... That is definitely NOT funny!!!

LOL!!! ;)

The Real Deal
This morning Martin and I headed out Into the Wild to shoot some pics! It was the first meeting of our photo club, of which we are the most honoured (and only) members ;) It was a great opportunity for me to get acquainted with my brand new lens!
(Click image to see individual photographs)
Let me just tell you: I will have to practise A LOT with this one! This is not a straightforward, point-and-shoot lens like my 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6! This is The Real Deal.
And I like it :)
To be continued!

I ♥ bokeh (and my new lens!)
Oh, bokeh! How I love you!!! :)
Look at all the prettiness I collected over at Flickr! Aren't these pictures beautiful?? Nothing better than blurriness if you ask me :) Hell, I tried to achieve bokeh in my photographs even before I knew it was called bokeh!! :)
How to achieve this delicious bokehness you ask? Considering the fact I am rather technically challenged you’re probably better of googling, but I do know this: large aperture = better bokeh!
The bokeh I got using my kit lens (18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6) was okay. Okay, but not great. And I knew, if I wanted great, I would have to use another lens.
So guess what got delivered today??? :) My very own Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens!!!!!!
Did you get that? f/1.4!!! *drool* And you wanna know what you get with f/1.4???
Bokeh. GREAT bokeh :)
*sigh* I can't WAIT to get started :)

Down came the rain! :)
After weeks of sunshine and heat, which left us all rather exhausted, we FINALLY welcomed rain back into our lives :)
You know what the best thing about rain is? After it stops, the whole world comes back to life! At first everything seems quiet, but once you take a better look...
... there are creatures everywhere!!! From spiders...
... to snails...
... and grasshoppers!
Up in the sky there are birds...
... and beneath chairs there are dogs :)
And when you're lucky, and I mean REALLY REALLY lucky, you might even see some young mice playing right next to you while you're having lunch!
And because these little mice MADE MY DAY, they got a little video as well:
So keep your eyes open. You might like what you see just as much as I do :)

We went mental...
... but for whole different reasons...............
I really feel like irrationally blaming someone for Holland losing the World Cup final against Spain, and it ain't gonna be the Dutch team.
The referee maybe? No, too easy.
Oh, wait! I know!!!
F*ck you, squid!

7,5 hours to go...
...until Netherlands - Spain! Let's hope they'll give us reason to go as mental as this:

Out and About: a boat trip
This weekend, we took a boat trip :)
Considering the fact I know absolutely nothing about boats I spent most of my time staring out over the water…
… photographing boaty-stuff…
… and hanging out with my 2,5 year old niece, who takes little bites of little sandwiches…
… topped with little portions of hagelslag…
… and has little feet!
It was a very Dutch weekend, strolling through the narrow streets of Volendam where World Cup Fever is very present…
… waking up to views like this…
… and sailing back over the IJmeer past the Paard van Marken.
Not a bad weekend. Not bad at all :)
