This weekend, after three weeks of anticipation, our new cats Tika and Boots were FINALLY allowed to go... into The Wild!!!
And even though they had been whining by our back door ever since they arrived...
... actually going outside was quite an adventure!
There were carefull first steps...
... the investigation of sticks...
... and the discovery of rooftops!
They went Far Far Away...
... but always came running back!
And then the moment came when little Boots went into our neighbour's garden...
... and met Günther, the neighbour's Flemish Giant!!! Turns out Giant Rabbits WILL chase cats if they get the chance... but luckily for us our little Boots turns out to be a fast one :)
So back inside they went, still a little shaken up and impressed by it all. (I think they expected a lot less Giant Rabbits by the look of Boots' expression ;)
Yes, little cats. It's a big, big world out there. Enjoy! :)

Email to Ricky
Dear Ricky Gervais,
YOU ROCK.
Instead of turning into a sad little suck up you stayed completely true to your own - sometimes brutally harsh - comedy style. Do NOT listen to the people who couldn't handle it - they'll be fine.
Also, I think this...
... might be about the coolest/funniest/bravest joke you could make to a room full of angry, bitter (and in some cases religulous) American celebrities.
For that, I hereby email you some R*E*S*P*E*C*T.
Greetzzzzz,
Me

Yeah baby!!!
I almost forgot to post this, but since it's been a tradition here on The Writing Tree, the year could not start properly without it :)
"Maybe I'm not camp, maybe I'm just having a really long stroke!"
Whahaha - lol! Alan Carr, you gotta love him! :D

Finished: The Sunburst Granny Blanket!
~~~ UPDATE JANUARY 2013 ~~~
I have started a new blog called Nittybits where you can find a tutorial of the Sunburst Granny Square Blanket! It contains information about the pattern, how to join the squares and the yarn I used. Feel free to check it out here:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all: happy new year everyone! :) I hope you enjoyed the holidays and have a colourful and happy 2011!
Second of all: I am happy to say I can start this new year with a brand new finished project!!! :D
Remember those Sunburst Granny Squares I was working on back in August? (You can find the pattern HERE.)
I started with one...
... which grew into a pile...
... which grew into a whole bunch of them!
And a few months after I started, I had finished 36 squares!
Aren't they the sunniest, happiest grannies ever?! :D I absolutely adore them!
After lining them up in a pretty formation it was time to join them together...
... and there you have it: a brand new Sunburst Granny Square Blanket!!! :D
Am I pleased with the result? Sure! The lining was a bit wobbly, so I'll have to mind that next time. But on the whole this little, happy blanket makes me very happy!
All it needed was a pretty ribbon...
... and the Sunburst Blanket was ready to go to its new owner: our brand new baby niece!
Let's just hope she'll enjoy it as much as I would :)
