Finished project: Destroyed Shirt Bunny :)

Q: What happens when your boyfriend leaves his favorite shirt on a chair that happens to lean against your pet rat cage, and then leaves for work?

A: Well, then the rats go to work as well, with a result looking something like this:



Yes, people. That IS a shirt with its sleeve gnawed off... :) On the bright side: my rats got a very comfortable bed made out of a sleeve, and I got myself some extra fabric!! ;)

And what to do with that extra fabric, you ask? Well, let me tell you: take a cute pattern...



... and make yourself a motherflippin' bunny!! :)



How adorable is that?!! :) Honestly, I think it's so cute...



... I might just start leaving some of J's other clothes next to the rat cage as well from now on - completely 'by accident' of course! ;)

My Kind of Kitty Cat :)

I CANNOT BELIEVE MY HOLIDAY IS OVER ALREADY!!! :( You would think three weeks would be enough chillin'... but it really, really, REALLY isn't...

So let's just look at the adorable, blue & yellow kitty cat I made the other day, to ease the pain a little ;)



It has dots. And a bell. And it's blue. And yellow.

The Sunny Sunday Sunshine Bag ~ update

Remember the Sunny Sunday Sunshine Bag I made last week? I was pretty happy with the result, until I started to feel like something was missing... I tried to figure out what could be wrong with a very happy, very sunny tote, and then it hit me: it was just too damn sunny! ;)

So I decided to add...



... some RAIN!



Okay, so it's cute, yellow, dotted rain...



... but it's rain nonetheless! And you know what the weird part is? I think this bag just got a whole lot sunnier because of it! :)

The Sunny Sunday Sunshine Bag!

I don't know if it was the sun or the scent of spring in the air, but today I felt like making a bag!!

Considering the fact I've never made a bag before, I decided to start slow and make myself the first (and easiest) bag from Lisa Lam's The Bag Making Bible: the Versatile Book Bag.



So off I went choosing fabrics...



... measuring, cutting, pinning, ironing...



... and sewing!



While Boots slept in the sun...



... I made a modest bag...



... with sunny handles...



... and sewed them together.



The result? One very happy...



... very bright...



... Sunny Sunday Sunshine Bag!!! :)



If I wasn't ready for Spring before, I surely am now! :)

Once upon a time...

... there was a practical, yet very ugly, camera bag.



Instead of throwing it away its owner decided to add a little colour to it, in hopes it would become Less Ugly. So the owner got out some tools...



... and made the Ugly Bag a beautiful happy strap!!! :)



It was yellow...



... and had dots on it!!!



And even though the bag is Still Ugly...



... they lived happily ever after anyways! :)

A Year and a Day of Crafting :)

No, I’ve not been busy celebrating new found fortune I’m afraid. The Universe pointed me in the direction of option number 2: working my ass off! :)

I was in fact so busy, I almost forgot this week is my One Year Of Crafting-anniversary!

One year ago this week, I decided I wanted to learn something new. I wanted to learn how to knit!! Me & knitting was not the best combination however, but it did lead me to discovering crochet.

And twelve months later...



... I'm still crafting! :)

Kawaii? Kawaii!!

Woohooooo! It’s Friday! The weekend is here! And the sun is shining!!

Reasons enough to share my latest finished project: a very happy, very sweet bunny! :) Ta-daaah!



I really wanted to combine felt and fabric with a simple yet cute design in warm colours.



And I'm pretty happy with the result! She turned out so kawaii :)

And the best thing?



I’ve included a magnet, so she can hang out on my fridge!! :)

If only I could...

Isn't it pretty?? :) I would LOVE to make one, and I know exactly which fabrics I'd use.

This morning, while J was busy sleeping in, I had myself a little breakfast-picknick in the Great Outdoors.

Beneath a beautiful blue sky...















... sitting in the high grass...















... enjoying the small things of life :)















Ooh - how I love the small things!!!






















Beautiful shapes and beautiful colours. How about these gorgeous yellow flowers?? They truly made my heart skip!!















If summer was a colour, this would be it! And you know what the best thing is?...















... I just got these fabrics in exactly the same shade!!!

I can't wait to make my own little pieces of summer!

Hooked: business card holder

After a two day time out I feel like I should be well again. Or at least pretend I'm well. Well enough to blog anyway...

So let's start with a little crochet-project I have been meaning to share with you. After combining felt and fabric I really wanted to try and combine crochet and fabric. I thought I would start with something easy: a business card holder!















I expected it would be difficult to join the fabric with the yarn in an invisible way, but it turned out to be very easy using a ladder stitch.















I am not sure if I'm completely happy with the end result yet, but for a first attempt it's not too bad. The fabric is cute as hell, so that helps ;)















I also love the colour of the button! Such a beautiful shade of green!















I don't know about you, but I feel a little better already :)
