Filming in Space

How cool is this?!?!

Allow me to answer that myself.

It's freakin' COOLER THAN COOL.

Q. What's more fun than Etsy?

A. Regretsy! :D

One of my colleagues forwarded me the most amazing site today. The name and slogan alone are enough to make my day:

Regretsy: where DIY meets WTF.

The whole concept is so simply brilliant I wish I had thought of it myself: it describes itself as 'the fail blog of hand crafts' and features all kinds of insane items people actually dare to ask money for on Etsy.com. Because even though Etsy is home to some of the prettiest handmade stuff out there, it's apparently also a Magnet for the Weird...

Here are five random things I stumbled upon:

1. A modest little scarf...

2. A very striking (?!) portrait of Zach Braff...

3. A 'beautifully' 'crafted' bracelet...

4. A totally unreadable embroidery piece - yours for only $225!! (WTF?!)

5. Kawaii glasses...

Wait - I actually like that last one :D

Want to be amazed? Check out more crazy items on Regretsy.com!

5 things on Friday

1. Making the best of rainy days with my very own Jip and Janneke-umbrella :)

2. Opening a box of sunshine...

3. ... and a box of bunnies!

4. Reliving my childhood :)

5. And making the very last square of the Sunburst Granny Square Blanket!!!

The Last One :)

That's it for today... I've got 36 granny squares to join!! :)

Down came the rain! :)

After weeks of sunshine and heat, which left us all rather exhausted, we FINALLY welcomed rain back into our lives :)

You know what the best thing about rain is? After it stops, the whole world comes back to life! At first everything seems quiet, but once you take a better look...

... there are creatures everywhere!!! From spiders...

... to snails...

... and grasshoppers!

Up in the sky there are birds...

... and beneath chairs there are dogs :)

And when you're lucky, and I mean REALLY REALLY lucky, you might even see some young mice playing right next to you while you're having lunch!

Mice! (2)

And because these little mice MADE MY DAY, they got a little video as well:

So keep your eyes open. You might like what you see just as much as I do :)

I ♥ Notebooks

Apart from baskets, I also ♥ notebooks :) Whenever I’m in a store that sells them, I just have to take a look. Hold them. Let my fingers run through the pages. I’ve had to create a rule for myself saying I cannot buy a new notebook before the present one is completed. (Otherwise I would end up with hundreds of them!)

Notebooks (1)

To me, finding the right notebook is very, very important. Sure, I could just grab the first one I see and start writing, but I like to make a process out of it. And my process of writing starts with finding the right notebook.

I’ve had small ones from Paperblanks…

Large ones from Paperblanks…

Happy ones from teNeues…

Pink ones…

And my latest? This beautiful Peter Pauper Press Birdhouse Journal!

I must say: I LOVE Peter Pauper Press. Check out their other gorgeous journals here! Aren’t they amazing??? *drool* They didn’t have the Owls Journal in my local bookstore, but I almost bought the Fresh Kicks AND Birdhouse Journal right then and there!!! Unfortunately that would’ve been against my rule of buying one notebook at a time, so I had to choose :(

The good news is: PPP also makes journals! Like my pretty, pink cats-in-dresses journal of 2010!

Which means I can buy another journal for 2011 soon...

... without breaking any rules!!! :)

I ♥ basket :)

I love buying new things. And sometimes, I love buying old things as well!

This was the paper bag my yarn was living in:

When you can see yarn through the bottom of a bag, it’s time for replacement ;)

So I looked around a little on the world wide web and lo and behold…

… A BASKET!

But not just a basket. The cutest basket EVER!

*Sigh* Never knew I could actually ♥ a basket.

(But I do :)

I'M BACK!! (Well, almost...)

After a nine hour flight and a jetlag that makes me wonder why the sun shines at night, I'm not quite ready to start blogging yet.

So instead, I'll show you a scene from 500 Days of Summer, a movie I watched on the plane last night. Picture yourself expecting a normal enough romantic guy-meets-girl flick, and then finding yourself in the middle of this:

If that doesn't make you wanna get up and dance in the streets, I don't know what will!

:)

Hello Earthlings!

Apologies for the lack of blogging these past few weeks. With 7 days to go until my 3,5 week trip to the US I’ve been super busy and kind of stressed out. I have so much to do before next Saturday!!! O_o

I could really use a laugh to break the tension…

Yep. That’ll do :) LOL

This guy has the best facial expressions EVER!!! By the time he finished Hero though, I was tricked into thinking his performance was kind of sweet rather than hilarious... until Simon stated it was something out of Star Wars. Then, suddenly, it was funny again.

Thanks, Chewie! You just made my day :)

Continuous Shooting Mode

The day I got my Canon, J and I tried the Continuous Shooting Mode: J moved his head really fast from side to side, and I took a dozen pictures in a row.

The result made me laugh so hard I CRIED.

It looks so ridiculous!!!!! :D

Martin of course put his own spin on the matter and turned it into something a bit more sinister.

Love his version! Although the original still gets me every time :)

Things that make my day (2)
