As of january 2013 this blog is closed: I have started a new blog and will no longer post here on The Writing Tree. From now on you can find my photographs & tutorials here:
Hope you're all enjoying your Easter Eggs? :) The weather has been amazing here these past few weeks, and I've spent as much time as possible outdoors. After months of winter it feels so GOOD to finally walk in the warm sunlight again, admiring all the beautiful, bright colours!
Since blogging or crafting is a bit difficult while you're on the move, I've been focussing on my macro lens instead. And oh how much I love my macro lens!!! :)
It allows you to really capture all the crispy freshness that is Spring! Look at that lighting! Look at those shades of GREEN! :)
And I suddenly find myself utterly obsessed with all creatures small...
... and smaller! :)
So if you don't hear from me, I'll be in The Wild!
After weeks of sunshine and heat, which left us all rather exhausted, we FINALLY welcomed rain back into our lives :)
You know what the best thing about rain is? After it stops, the whole world comes back to life! At first everything seems quiet, but once you take a better look...
... there are creatures everywhere!!! From spiders...
... to snails...
... and grasshoppers!
Up in the sky there are birds...
... and beneath chairs there are dogs :)
And when you're lucky, and I mean REALLY REALLY lucky, you might even see some young mice playing right next to you while you're having lunch!
And because these little mice MADE MY DAY, they got a little video as well:
So keep your eyes open. You might like what you see just as much as I do :)
Confession: I should’ve planted these about four months ago. But let me ask you this: who the hell plants stuff in December?!?! Way too cold if you ask me ;)
Of course, the chances of these actually turning into flowers now are pretty slim. All the progression seen in the picture above actually took place INSIDE THE BAG of bulbs... So let’s just call it a challenge, shall we?
Besides, any reason to get out my pink, white dotted watering can is fine by me :)
Oh dear... Let's hope they'll make it... :S
And you might not believe me, but... the rest of the garden is actually doing pretty fine - without any help from me whatsoever.
No. Definitely not as easy as it looks, this gardening thing...
The last time I was in my garden, it was October... There was a yellow flower and the most amazing rose. After a few months of winter, not much is left. Although...
When you look more closely there's plenty to see. Even the remains of yellow flowers look great! I also discovered a nice surprise left by the previous owner of our house: the whole garden is suddenly covered with flowers!
And remember these? They have undergone a beautiful transformation!
Isn't that gorgeous? I just couldn't get enough of them!
I really should spend more time in my garden this year! :)
