Remember the cute little book I showed you yesterday?? Well… I forgot to mention a quite significant little detail...
It's in Swedish.
Which would be no problem whatsoever...
If I were Swedish.
Or could speak Swedish.
Or could at least read Swedish.
But I am not. And I can't. So… it’s translation time!!! :) So far, this is what I got from a translation website (Swedish – Dutch):
Snelle ogen, begraven onze hoofden, hoewel de bomen in de vroege en opslaan van een 20cm lang stuk aan het eind
Which is beautiful and poetic!!! And complete nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with crochet :) And the Swedish – English result turned out to be not much better:
Fixed eye, stop the head, though trade in early and save a 20 cm long piece at the end
Well… At least the last part makes sense!! :)

I promised you credits!
Opening credits that is :)
I never really pay much attention to opening credits, until they are really great: then suddenly I realize how much identity they can give a movie or tv show. Much like trailers in fact - and you know I LOVE trailers!! :)
So I did a little surfin' which led to a good old fashioned Youtube Click-Fest!! First stop: tv shows & animation!
After this...
... everybody wanted animation! Some turned out well...
... and some not so well...
This one I LOVE because of the music!!
Wait a minute... See those hands @ 00:30? Where did I see something like that before...? Oh, here it is... (00:10)
Apparently hands are supposed to be scary! ;) Ah well, who cares?! You know they both stole it from this one!!! :D
Oh Mulder & Scully, how I miss you!!! *sigh* Those were the days! ;)

L to the AZY
Today I couldn't be bothered. I should've gone shopping for a summer coat!! I should've done any of the other things I was supposed to do!! Instead I spent my time...
... making my first manual photograph with my Canon!
... documenting the progress of The Big Project (14 ripples and counting)!
... looking at a new book!
... and listening to a new cd!
Oh Bret and Jemaine!!! My favourite rappin' Kiwi! You guys always make my day!
Fo shizzle! :)

Let's dance!
You know I LOVE great auditions!! Nothing like a bit of Britain's Got Talent to cheer me up :) Here are some of my favourite dance acts I collected over the years!
Here's Scott, who never danced in public before his audition.
And then there was little George Sampson! Here he is when he first entered in 2007...
... and when he won in 2008!
A year later, 11-year old (!) Aiden Davis entered the stage and, well... judge for yourself:
Here he is during one of the live shows (great video effects!)
And last but not least: Diversity!
A LITTLE DUDE CAME OUT OF A BAG, PEOPLE!!! O_o How awesome is that?!?!?! ;)
Auditions - you've got to love 'em!! :)

A Little Taste of Titles
I love watching TV shows! Even the not-so-great ones I devour within a week - although I somewhat cheat by simultaneously work on my crochet-projects… And most TV shows have their own charm, great or small: characters, plot, ambience, wit – there has to be something that sticks out to make a show worth watching, episode after episode, season after season.
Unfortunately for Heroes, the best part of the show takes place in the first 10 seconds of every episode… The titles just keep getting better and better as the show progresses! I think the person who creates them should get an award or something – that’s how cool I think they are! :)
And thanks to Youtube, you don't have to watch the entire series; you can have a little Taste of Titles in just 3,5 minutes!
Oh Youtube, how I love you! :)
Coming soon: a selection of my favourite opening credits!!!

Continuous Shooting Mode
The day I got my Canon, J and I tried the Continuous Shooting Mode: J moved his head really fast from side to side, and I took a dozen pictures in a row.
The result made me laugh so hard I CRIED.
It looks so ridiculous!!!!! :D
Martin of course put his own spin on the matter and turned it into something a bit more sinister.
Love his version! Although the original still gets me every time :)

Quote van de dag
It ain't easy being green...
I started my Sunday with a little gardening.
The goal: planting some flowers.
Confession: I should’ve planted these about four months ago. But let me ask you this: who the hell plants stuff in December?!?! Way too cold if you ask me ;)
Of course, the chances of these actually turning into flowers now are pretty slim. All the progression seen in the picture above actually took place INSIDE THE BAG of bulbs... So let’s just call it a challenge, shall we?
Besides, any reason to get out my pink, white dotted watering can is fine by me :)
Oh dear... Let's hope they'll make it... :S
And you might not believe me, but... the rest of the garden is actually doing pretty fine - without any help from me whatsoever.
No. Definitely not as easy as it looks, this gardening thing...

Garden time
The last time I was in my garden, it was October... There was a yellow flower and the most amazing rose. After a few months of winter, not much is left. Although...
When you look more closely there's plenty to see. Even the remains of yellow flowers look great! I also discovered a nice surprise left by the previous owner of our house: the whole garden is suddenly covered with flowers!
And remember these? They have undergone a beautiful transformation!
Isn't that gorgeous? I just couldn't get enough of them!
I really should spend more time in my garden this year! :)
